What a sheet of acrylic really costs in Honolulu

On October 1, 2026, we priced a full sheet of 1/4″ clear cast acrylic two ways: ordered online from a mainland seller and shipped to Honolulu (96817), and bought at our counter in Iwilei.

On the mainland order, shipping cost 2.1 times the sheet. Our sheet is 10% bigger and costs less than half as much, delivered to your truck. The extra size also leaves room for the saw: 16 pieces at 12″ x 24″ instead of 10 at most.
Two other large mainland sellers don’t show Hawaii freight online at all. One lists the sheet at $194.70, but you need a freight quote before you know the real price. Liftgate, appointment and residential delivery cost extra.

Why the numbers come out this way
Our sheets are already here, on the rack in Iwilei. Getting them to Hawaii is built into our price. On a mainland website it’s a separate line you only see at checkout. Hawaii costs are still Hawaii costs, and we won’t pretend our sheet price beats a mainland warehouse. Compare the delivered price.

If you’re buying many sheets at once, have a loading dock and can wait, a mainland freight quote may come in lower. Get the quote and add it all up. Then call us and we’ll give you a straight number to compare.

Bring your sizes.
Small, simple orders are cut while you wait, and bigger cut lists usually take 1 to 3 days. If we cut it wrong, we recut it.
We also route, laser cut, engrave, polish, bend and thermoform in the same building.

Why does shipping a sheet of acrylic to Hawaii cost so much?
A full sheet is too big for parcel service, so it goes by truck freight and ocean carrier. On a single sheet, freight can cost more than the sheet itself.
Why is your full sheet 51" x 100" instead of 4' x 8'?
We buy direct from the sheet manufacturers, so we can stock oversize sheets. The extra room covers the saw kerf, the material each cut removes, so you still get full use of the 48″ x 96″. For example, with a 1/8″ kerf a 51″ x 100″ sheet gives you 16 pieces at 12″ x 24″. A true 48″ x 96″ sheet gives you 10 at most, because there isn’t room for the saw cuts in a full 4 x 4 layout.
Do you deliver on Oahu?
Not at this time. Orders are picked up at our shop in Iwilei. Neighbor-island orders ship weekly by Young Brothers barge, or by air cargo.
